Swimming started back up. Madi stood up and jumped right in the water and swam back to the edge. We haven't been swimming for over a month and she didn't forget a thing. The swim school really wanted everyone to work on swimming over the break. Well it's hard to find a pool in the winter. I was going to check a few places, but time flew right by. It was so good to see that even though Madi didn't have any practice over the break she's still doing great!!! She did the Back Skull with the kick board mostly by herself for the length of the pool.
This is Ethan's first time with swimming lessons. He didn't want anything to do with it. He tried covering his buckles on the car seat so that I would leave him in the car. We got inside and he wouldn't let me take his clothes off. So, we got Madi showered and went and sat on the stairs to wait for the instructors. I spoke with Ethan's instructor Robin about how much he DIDN'T want to swim. They've been dealing with this kind of situation for many many years so it's nothing new for them. I told her what a loud cryer he is, but she wasn't worried. He cried off and on while we waited. After a huge struggle I got his clothes off and got him settled down (as much as I could). Then Robin came up and took him from me and went in the water. He didn't cry one bit after he left my arms! Little turkey!
Anyway, he ended up being fine and had fun. She didn't make him go under water this time, but I'm guessing next week he will. I think since he's so scared she's giving him a little time. Normally, like with Madi they go under a few times in the first class. I think he'll end up loving to go there after next week.
